September Highlights

I love looking back over the photos in my iPhone and seeing what caught my attention this month. From photos I have taken to things I have saved from Facebook. It's great to see the the themes evolving and the experience si have had. After my last share all I thought I would make this a regular thing to look back at the month that was.

So here is September in a snapshot or two.

Sunset from my balcony

Ceiling at the NGV, Melbourne - I attend a luncheon with Rachel Griffiths as the guest speaker

I found this quote the day I booked my Fiji trip!

Six days of nothing but reading and relaxing in the sun

Getting up early for sunrise in Fiji

Loving this new look from Alannah Hill SS13/14 collection

Homemade seafood laksa overkill. Amazing but way too much to eat

Morocco or Brazil (Can't remember) but loving the colours and architecture. Both are on my travel list.

Sunset reflected on the Sydney Opera House

My October issues of my favourite magazines ready for Sunday afternoon (A secret pastime of mine)

Grand Final Day snacks - as always I over cater!

What an amazing month. I wonder what October will bring??

Thoughts and Feelings

Hi all,

It's such a great feeling to know that I have a place to to put my thoughts. Whether anyone reads them, or takes them on board, isn't really the point. It's about a safe place to download and share. The good, the bad, the exciting and the ugly.

While those close to me will know that the last 12 months have been tough and the last 6 more so, others will probably not have noticed a change in the business as usual version of me.  (aside from a lack of posting anything). Up until recently, I prided myself on that. On projecting that veneer to the world that everything is ok. But honestly inside I am sad. And it made me realise that we put on this veneer, this mask as if being the real version of ourselves would not be liked and accepted. That people would shun us and think less of us for showing our really feelings and our real lives.

In this day of social media and the desire to share the best bits of our lives with everyone (those we know and those we don't), have w…

Crushing on....

Do you ever get so obsessed with something that it's all you can think about? For an example a song, a dress, a culture or a food. I do. A lot. So I thought to help my obsession or to maybe even get me over my current obsessions I thought I would share them.

Food - Avocado and Feta Mash. Simple and oh so tasty. Just mash an avocado together with crumbled feta  Serve on toast, with tortilla chips, as a dish with poached eggs. Almost anywhere. Try adding extras like lemon juice, chopped tomatoes or fresh herbs. If you are in Melbourne head to Moulin Noir in Port Melbourne who do a mean version.Movie - So I am going to cheat here and go with a franchise of AMAZING movies. Fast & The Furious. Absolutely obsessed with these. and there is a new one out, Fast & Furious 6. Vin Diesel, Paul Walker,  fast cars and non stop action. Do I need to say more? Looking forward to seeing it this weekSong - Oh so hard to pick one but going with my movie theme it would have to be We Own It by 2…
